The New Moon Solar Eclipse occurs at 12:12 AM Eastern Time on Thursday April 20th.
This Eclipse is special for a few reasons:
This is the 2nd(!) of back to back New Moons in Aries this year.
It is occurring at an anaretic degree (29°50').
The Eclipse is conjunct Jupiter and in a t-square with Pluto and Pallas Athene.
New Moon Solar Eclipses are 3x as powerful as a regular New Moon and they open portals for major karmic releases and change. With the first New Moon in Aries on March 21st, followed by an intense Full-Moon in Libra on April 6th, and now this New Moon Eclipse also in Aries we have been experiencing intense Aries (Self)/Libra (Other) themes.
At this anaretic degree, we can feel fate knocking at our doors and an urgency to the choices we need to make. It is at this degree that we have an opportunity to finish up the Aries/Libra lessons that we still have to learn.
Lessons such as:
Where have we not been honoring ourselves (or honoring ourselves too much) in our relationships/jobs/families etc.?
Where has a relationship pattern become unsustainable?
Where have we been giving and not receiving (or receiving and not giving) in equal measure, leaving us feeling drained of energy/resources or out of balance.
Do we know what our Soul's true desires are and are we energizing the right areas of our life and heading in the right direction?
Jupiter conjunct this eclipse tells us that something must go in order to create space for something better to come in.
Over the past month, the curtain has been pulled back on where we have settled for less because of the fear of: the new, the overwhelming, uncertainty, upsetting the apple cart, losing other people's approval etc.
With the Pluto/Pallas squares, we can no longer choose to ignore what is no longer working in our relationships and our lives. We will be confronted with the truth of a situation, and we have a choice as to how we move forward. Aries encourages us to be brave enough to look at the shit, own our part in it, and have the courage to do what needs to be done in order to release what is no longer serving us and allow more room for the good to come in so we can level up.
Aries New Moon Eclipse Ritual
The suggested rituals for this Aries New Moon are those that involve initiations. Take the first step forward today and try your hand at something new with confidence and grace.
It would also be a great day to purge your house, your closet, your car etc. of items that are weighing you down. Or even just sweep some dust out of your living area- Whatever you chose to do that can create some space to allow more of the new to come in. The more reverence and attention you complete the exercise with, the more goodwill you engender with the Eclipse energies.
New Moons are also opportune times to take a relaxing bath (Moon is always associated with waters- physically and emotionally)- if you don't have a bathtub, then bathe in the moonlight.
